Episode 1 recap

Ava is hosting a night in with her friends and sends her boyfriend away from the living room. Her best friend, Camilla, also happens to be his adult stepsister, and that has been a complication for two years.

He catches himself wishing for things he should not. Camilla notices him spying on the group. When he goes to the kitchen for water, Ava calls out and he says he is just getting a drink.

Twenty minutes into the movie Ava is asleep on the couch, as always. Camilla tells him he is allowed out now. He asks what he is allowed to do, and she says to come find out. She tells him to sit, says Ava will not wake, and promises they will be quiet.

Rule waived

The sign on the door says one thing, and the plot does the opposite. With the host asleep a few feet away, the tension comes from whispering, creaking floors and a film still playing in the background. Camilla is a grown woman, and she is a stepsister rather than a blood relative.

It is tagged Stepsister and Taboo, so it fits alongside the other titles in our stepsister collection. Episodes are vertical and last about a minute, so each scene is quick, quiet and a little risky. The sleeping host is both the safety and the danger.
