Episode 1 recap

The first episode is short and sharp, set in a wrestling ring. A fighter tells Brooke that tonight she is being paid to end her career, and that she is going down.

She works Brooke's shoulder as she says it. Brooke asks if she is really asking her to end her own career. The rival answers that she is not asking anything, because it is already booked.

She repeats that she is paid to finish Brooke, then adds the line that makes it personal: fight back. Both women are adults, and the scene sets up a rivalry that the series promises will turn into something neither expected. It ends on that challenge, with the match still unresolved.

In the ring

Rivalry is the first thing you see, and attraction is the second. Brooke is trying to rebuild her career, and the opponent who stands in her way is also the one she cannot stop watching.
