Courtney’s Secret

What Courtney’s Secret is about

A fresh start turns dangerous when a new renter is drawn to Courtney, the alluring wife of his landlord. Beneath her home sits a secret playroom, and it soon becomes clear that the whole neighborhood is in on it. He was never a guest in this story. He is the one being hunted. Every neighbor seems to know the next move.

Episode 1 recap

A man narrates his fresh start in a new city and new street, and admits it was meant to be quiet until he saw her. He is caught staring at his neighbor, who is amused and hands him a box he is carrying. She introduces herself as Courtney.

Her husband Jamie, the landlord, comes over and says they look after their own, especially newcomers. Courtney laughs about a bit of soap on his shirt, and the new tenant thanks them both and tries to leave politely.

Then a second voice cuts in. Courtney says she felt sorry for him and that she is married to a man like Jamie, but that he had no idea he was the one who should be worried. The episode ends with a shocked "What the?" as the tenant finds out what is waiting.

A fresh start next door

The warm welcome is not what it seems. Courtney is charming, her home is inviting, and the longer he stays, the clearer it is that everyone else has been waiting for him.

Candy tags it MILF, nympho and taboo. Expect vertical episodes of about a minute, a suburban mystery mood and a reveal that changes how you view earlier scenes.

Everything is told from the renter's point of view, which keeps the viewer guessing. Each friendly neighbor feels a little more suspicious than the last. Each episode ends on a small reveal.
