House Rules

What House Rules is about

Her husband's adult son comes home for a stay, bringing his girlfriend along. His stepmother, restless and bored, drafts a set of house rules designed to get what she wants. With the girlfriend under the same roof and the husband none the wiser, each rule is a small step further than the last, and breaking one has a price.

Episode 1 recap

A son comes home to see his stepmother, and Dad is away on a work trip, so the house is just the two of them. She welcomes him warmly and starts with her house rules. Rule one is to follow her every command.

He tells himself he has a partner and needs to think straight. She invites him to relax in the hot tub. Then his partner calls to say she is coming to visit tomorrow, and the stepmom notices he is stressed.

Rule two arrives immediately: no calling his partner today. He protests that she is his stepmom, and she tells him to be in the shower in ten minutes and not to keep her waiting. The first episode closes on that order.

Rules with an agenda

The hook is a clever device: a printed list, pinned up politely, with every item hiding a motive. The stepmother is a poised adult woman who treats the home as her own stage, and she is in no hurry.

The tags are MILF, Stepmom/Mom and Taboo, so it fits right into our stepmom and MILF collection. Tension builds from the risk of the girlfriend noticing, and from the stepson's slow realization of what the list is really for.
