My Roommate’s Girlfriend

What My Roommate’s Girlfriend is about

Nate's roommate Ben has a girlfriend, Sadie, who sleeps over every weekend. She calls Nate the worst: rude, cocky, always in a towel and always saying what nobody else will. His favorite line is that Ben is boring, and the real trouble is that she knows he may be right, which is why she keeps staying around. Everyone involved is an adult.

Episode 1 recap

Nate lives with his roommate Ben, who has a partner named Sadie, and she sleeps over every weekend. She tells Nate he is the worst, and he points out that the walls in this place are thin. Everyone is an adult.

Sadie complains and says she wishes he would move out, Nate says Ben is sweet but boring, and that she does not want sweet, she wants someone who will take charge. She calls him annoying, and he says she loves it.

Ben asks Nate whether Sadie can stay all weekend, and Nate says he is fine with Sadie staying all weekend. He tells her to find him when Ben bores her, and that he will be waiting.

What to expect

A shared apartment, a weekend visitor and a roommate who cannot keep his opinions to himself. The friction is the flirtation, and the series makes the most of that, one weekend at a time.

Candy tags it Cuckold, and the fact that Ben is the one being talked about, and talked over, is the pressure. Episodes run about a minute and build on bickering that gets closer, quieter and harder to walk away from. The tone is teasing and suggestive, with close-ups and nothing graphic. Each weekend visit raises the stakes a notch.
