She’s Not Real

What She’s Not Real is about

You step into a polished virtual experience where the women of your dreams are all at your disposal. The challenge is a game with a single goal: choose carefully and see whether you can win over every one you pick. The line between simulation and desire gets harder to find with each choice you make.

Episode 1 recap

A man puts on a virtual-reality headset for the first time and lands in a polished dream world. A menu shows the women available to him, each labeled by type, among them a strict boss, the neighbor next door and his best friend's mom.

One thing looks wrong: he has no entry of his own, and one woman on the scene says she is not on the menu either. He asks what this place is, and is told it is his dream and he can pick anyone he likes.

He chooses her anyway. She answers that she runs this dream and cannot be had, and the confident mood cracks. He starts to panic and says he needs to get back, which sets up the series' game of choosing carefully.

What to expect

The title is the twist. Everything in this world is designed for you, and the fun lies in how willing each woman is to play along with a script she may or may not know she is following.

It belongs to the fantasy category, with a glossy, game-like feel. Episodes are vertical clips of about a minute, with plenty of direct-to-camera moments that put you in the middle of the scene.

Because the premise is about choice, the story keeps handing the decision back to you, and each pick changes the mood of the next scene. It is a light, playful series rather than a heavy drama.

Who is in it

The women of the simulation are AI-generated, fictional adults, which suits a series whose title already tells you none of it is real.
